Port au Peck is a section of the Borough of Oceanport that roughly encompasses the northern half of the town. Beginning at Myrtle Avenue and extending north and northeast, most of Port au Peck forms a peninsula extending into the Shrewsbury River. An interesting aspect of this section of town is that almost all the streets are named after Native American tribes that lived throughout the country.
Port au Peck has a diverse mix of housing which includes all housing styles and price ranges. There are homes that appeal to first time home buyers as well as high end, riverfront homes. Maple Place, the upper elementary school is located in Port au Peck, while the lower elementary school, Wolf Hill is located in the southern part of town. High school students attend Shore Regional High School in West Long Branch, along with students from Sea Bright, Monmouth Beach and West Long Branch. The Little Silver train station is about 5 minutes away, as are local are beaches making it a convenient location for commuters and beach lovers alike.
