Elberon Homes – Long Branch, NJ

Elberon is an area in the southern section of Long Branch, generally running from Norwood Avenue east to the Atlantic Ocean and south from Cedar Avenue to the Deal border.  The name, Elberon, is reported derived from the name of one of the area's early developers, L.B. Brown, who moved to Long Branch in the 1870's.  In the late 1800's and early 1900's Elberon was a seashore mecca and seven presidents spent time at the shore in Elberon.  After being shot, President Garfield came to Elberon in an attempt to recover from his wound with the belief that the sea air would be therapeutic. Sadly that was not the case, but the house in which he spent his last days stands to this day.

Elberon offers primarily single family, detached housing and has a diverse mix of homes covering all price ranges.  There are homes that would appeal to first time home buyers, multi-million dollar estates on the ocean and everything in between.  For those who might commute north, there is easy access to the Garden State Parkway and there is a New Jersey Transit train station on Lincoln Avenue.   Monmouth University is minutes away as are West End shops and Route 35 shopping outlets.
